SAEED is an Arabic word that it is used in Persian as a first name 2020

by: Gelareh Reihani
In the performance of "Saeed ..." the most important issue was how human society: how human beings get together and the kind of relationships they create. The collective biology of man constantly leads him to the construction of society, and the construction of this society always leads to the collapse of the collective relationship of man. In fact, human beings are separated by what unites them. As Hannah Arendt mentioned: “What makes mass society so difficult to bear is not the number of people involved, or at least not primarily, but the fact that the world between them has lost its power to gather them together, to relate and to separate them. The weirdness of this situation resembles a spiritualistic séance where a number of people gathered around a table might suddenly, through some magic trick, see the table vanish from their midst, so that two persons sitting opposite each other were no longer separated but also would be entirely unrelated to each other by anything tangible.” The performance took place in a red flat floor of 850 meters. We had 15 performers. and each member had a specific subject and medium for him/herself: video art, video performance, lecture performance, monologue, theater and .... During a process of months, these ideas together produced the output of a unique performance

TANGIBLE MOBILITY 2019

by: Gelareh Reihani
“Tangible movement” performance is a narration less duet that has been created based on dialogue and arrangement of two performers proportional to each other and also audiences. This performance is focused on defacement of what is declared and everything is said based on three pronouns of me, you and us. This will results in defacement of both performers identity proportional to each other and also audiences. Finally what is declared belongs to which one of them? and the most important problem is that how significant is it?

ABANDONED MOBILITY 2018

by: Gelareh Reihani
Lost have been always a common concern for most of the people. The experience of missing, losing, not being. In a special way for each of us. Losing, constantly makes me think of something or someone or a moment that is no longer wanted or unwanted. The abandoned movement was performed in a special theater hall, and even the type of presentation for the audience was the introduction of a theater performance for which the audience prepared a ticket to see and received a seat number. But the performance had no performers. The scene consists of a kitchen with full details, cabinets full of dishes, refrigerators and other parts of the kitchen full of all kinds of food, sinks full of water, a turn on stove and on it a fish is frying, and a blue kettle is boiling. In this performance, our aim was to make a platform for interaction between the audience and the space. In the decor of stage and its dynamics, everything indicated the existence of a performer who owns the stage. But the performer was not really in front of the audience, and this allowed the audience to choose should they start entering the performer's position and the kitchen (stage) in the absence of the performer? Then how does he/she act in this situation?

COLLAPSED 2018

by: Gelareh Reihani
Collapsed performance is non-narrative performance Based on the definition of exhaustion from the perspective of Gilles Deleuze: Not becoming! Deterioration of everything possible! Simply put, nothing happens. Conditions without any progress. So, considering the theory of exhaustion of Gilles Deleuze and study of the works of artists such as Francis Bacon, Samuel Beckett, Franz Kafka and Lucien Freud has greatly influenced the formation of this performance. The performance took place in a public parking in Tehran. A parking with glass walls that allow spectators to see the outside surrounding. This choice was formed with the idea that, the possibility of seeing the world outside the performance, when it occurs to the spectator, the contrast of rhythm and space in the minds and bodies of performers, also the performance space, which is based on the exhaustion and deterioration of everything possible. Makes the body more prominent in relation to the outside surrounding and the normal flow of life.

BURDEN 2015 – 2016

by: Gelareh Reihani
“Burden” has been created based on Talpa story written by Juan Rulfo. But finally the performance has not been committed to the original story and in fact, the initial core of the mentioned story has been used to generate the performance and in order to advance the narrative, some techniques such as video mapping, sound engineering and movement have been employed.

BREATH OUT 2014

by: Gelareh Reihani
“Breath out” is a narrative based performance that it’s narration tools is not word and is built according to the images and behaviors. This performance has been performed in a semi ruined historical place which belongs to Qajar era. In confronting with place of performance, it has been tried to keep everything unchanged and we plan the structure of performance considering the existing situation.
