COLLAPSED 2018
by: Gelareh Reihani
Collapsed performance is non-narrative performance Based on the definition of exhaustion from the perspective of Gilles Deleuze: Not becoming! Deterioration of everything possible! Simply put, nothing happens. Conditions without any progress. So, considering the theory of exhaustion of Gilles Deleuze and study of the works of artists such as Francis Bacon, Samuel Beckett, Franz Kafka and Lucien Freud has greatly influenced the formation of this performance. The performance took place in a public parking in Tehran. A parking with glass walls that allow spectators to see the outside surrounding.
This choice was formed with the idea that, the possibility of seeing the world outside the performance, when it occurs to the spectator, the contrast of rhythm and space in the minds and bodies of performers, also the performance space, which is based on the exhaustion and deterioration of everything possible. Makes the body more prominent in relation to the outside surrounding and the normal flow of life.
